Lis presents Jim Beaver with the IMSFF t-shirt. Fandom Rocks California Regional Advisor, Lis, presented Jim Beaver (“Bobby”) with an Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund t-shirt signed by a multitude of fans and convention planners during the September 2008 EyeCon convention in Orlando, Florida. Fandom Rocks presented the t-shirt to Jim as thanks for his part in delivering IMSFF coins to Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles on the set of Supernatural.

We would like to extend our thanks to Jim, the EyeCon staff, and all of the fans who signed the shirt. This is why our fandom rocks. Enjoy the video and pictures after the jump!

HSUS logo. Donations to the Investigations Fund are used to:

  • Provide investigators the latest technology in surveillance equipment, evidence documentation, and research tools.
  • Give investigators the capability to travel domestically and internationally during investigations.
  • Hire additional trained investigators.
  • Outfit those investigators with the training and field support they need to document animal abuse in a variety of situations.
  • Allow investigators to access, document, and expose egregious cruelties found in industries and underground activities such as the fur industry, animal fighting pits, factory farms, and puppy mills.

Every year, millions of animals suffer, out of sight and out of mind from the public. You can put a dedicated, powerful team of investigators on their side with your gift to the Investigations Fund.

FANS OF “SUPERNATURAL” RAISE THOUSANDS FOR CHARITY

Champaign, IL, September 5, 2008

Fandom Rocks, a grassroots organization made up of fans of CW Television’s Supernatural, has concluded yet another successful charitable drive, raising thousands of dollars for two very worthy organizations, WriteGirl and Invisible Children.

This campaign, the third for Fandom Rocks, was the most successful to date, raising almost $9000 USD which will be evenly divided between WriteGirl and Invisible Children. The beneficiaries were chosen by fans through voting conducted on the Fandom Rocks website. Funds were raised among through site donations and a successful eBay auction, for which items were donated by fans and celebrities alike, including the cast and crew of Supernatural.

Fandom Rocks is grateful to everyone who participated in the campaign by donating auction items, bidding, and spreading the word about the fundraiser. Special thanks go to Sera Gamble and everyone at Supernatural for the autographed memorabilia provided for the auction.

Supernatural fans from around the world worked together to “give back” while bonding through their shared love and support for Supernatural, which they will be quick to tell you is the “absolute best show on TV!” Winners of auction items included fans in Belgium, Australia, and Japan.

Fandom Rocks is now preparing for their fourth campaign. Information on the organization and their work can be found at www.fandom-rocks.com.

###

This is it. The final round of our auction is set to begin in just two short hours. This means the current round of items also ends in two short hours. Take a quick peek at our listings just in case. We saved a little bit of everything for this last round, and we have a couple of secret items from the kind folks at “Ten Inch Hero” that will be a big surprise. Don’t miss it!

Reminders

We love to hear when your auction items arrive! Don’t be shy, let us know when they arrive safely. We worry about those scripts, shirts, and books.

Also, the poll for the next charities is still open. Take a look at the list of organizations. There may be a few new ones. If you don’t see one you want to support, you can always nominate one.
